Project Overview

This project focused on eliminating 70% of manual work and building a scalable data system using Airtable for the backend and Softr for the client-facing portal. The client, Converted.co.uk, needed a more efficient way to manage their A/B testing data, which was previously stored in fragmented Google Sheets. The solution provided a streamlined and scalable architecture, with structured data and an intuitive interface for their team.

Key Challenges

  1. Fragmented Data: Data was scattered across multiple Google Sheets with no relational structure, causing errors and inefficiencies.
  2. Manual Data Entry: Team members were spending hours manually entering data, leading to errors and delays.
  3. Lack of Dashboards: There was no centralized system to view and track test performance in real-time.
  4. Scalability Issues: The system was not designed to scale with the growing number of A/B tests.

Solution & Approach

  • Airtable: Designed a relational database to organize A/B test data with linked records, rollup fields, and standardized formulas to ensure accuracy.
  • Softr: Built a client-facing portal for the team to access A/B test results, manage experiments, and track metrics easily.
  • Role-Based Access: Implemented secure access controls so that each team member could see only what they needed.

Results

  • 70% Reduction in Manual Work: Automation of data entry, calculations, and reporting significantly reduced manual efforts.
  • 100% Data Accuracy: With standardized formulas and automated processes, data consistency improved.
  • Scalable System: The solution can easily scale as the number of A/B tests grows, with new tests being added in under 2 minutes.

Key Technologies Used

  • Airtable (for backend database)
  • Softr (for client-facing portal)
  • Google Sheets (for legacy data migration)
  • Role-based access and data protection for security
